Youth Minister chairs inaugural Hope Network meeting

Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfeeqi, Minister of Youth Affairs, chaired the first meeting of the Global Network for Youth Competitiveness, known as the “Hope Network,” held remotely with the participation of youth miisters from member states.

Minister Tawfeeqi conveyed the greetings of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, and underscored His Highness’ commitment to advancing youth empowerment on a global scale. She emphasised the meeting’s importance in fostering a unified vision for youth empowerment and expanding collaborative efforts through impactful initiatives. 

The minister introduced the Hope Network Youth Empowerment International Best Practices Guide, launched at the World Government Summit in Dubai, and presented the network’s official website, which provides information on member countries and their key initiatives. 

Felipe Paullier, United Nations Assistant Secretary General for Youth Affairs, commended Bahrain’s leadership in establishing the Hope Network, describing it as a global model aligned with youth empowerment and sustainable development goals. He expressed the UN’s strong interest in the network’s progress and welcomed its participation in the upcoming ECOSOC Youth Forum at the UN Headquarters. 

The meeting concluded with discussions on future programmes, joint initiatives, and strategies to expand membership, aiming to strengthen coordination and enhance youth leadership development across member states. 

Participants underscored their commitment to making the Hope Network a key contributor to global youth development and sustainability.
