On International Youth Day, His Excellency Mr. Felipe Paullier, United Nations Assistant Secretary-General for Youth Affairs and a member of the Hope Network, affirmed that young people around the world continue to demonstrate their leadership and ability to drive positive change — not only as leaders of the future, but as active leaders of today.
The UN Assistant Secretary-General for Youth Affairs stated on International Youth Day:
“We celebrate the leadership, creativity, and commitment of youth around the world. From local campaigns to global peace efforts, young people are leading change with awareness and purpose, building bridges of trust between cultures, and making a real and lasting impact.
This year, we commemorate 80 years since the founding of the United Nations, 30 years of the World Programme of Action for Youth, and 10 years since the adoption of the first UN Security Council resolution on Youth, Peace, and Security. These historic milestones affirm that youth are not merely participants, but true partners in shaping a better world — and that they are not only the leaders of the future, but leaders of the present as well.”
