As the world marks International Youth Day on 12 August, Hope Network reaffirms the importance of international cooperation in expanding opportunities for young people, strengthening their participation, and sharing knowledge and good practices in youth policy and development.
This year’s International Youth Day is observed under the theme “Different Contexts, Common Aspirations,” highlighting the shared aspirations of young people worldwide for quality education, decent work, meaningful participation, health, peace, and the opportunity to contribute to a better future.
Launched in the Kingdom of Bahrain in November 2024 in accordance with the vision of H.H. Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Hope Network brings together governments, organizations and youth institutions to strengthen international cooperation, exchange expertise and promote successful youth initiatives.
Since its launch, the Network has established a growing international presence, reaching 52 members representing countries, international organizations and youth institutions. It has also introduced the Hope Charter, which is founded on five principles that recognize young people as a source of hope and shapers of the future, while emphasizing the shared responsibility to invest in their capabilities and expand opportunities for them.
The theme of International Youth Day 2026 reflects the core philosophy of Hope Network: while young people live in different contexts, their aspirations are often shared. International cooperation provides an opportunity to learn from one another, share what works and expand opportunities for young people worldwide.
From the Kingdom of Bahrain, Hope Network continues to promote cooperation, knowledge-sharing and partnerships, supporting young people as active partners in development and in shaping the future.
