The Ministry of Youth and Sports is responsible for designing, coordinating, implementing, and monitoring the government’s policy on youth, sports, leisure, entrepreneurship, and innovation.
It develops and implements national policies and programs related to entrepreneurship and social integration.
It promotes individual and collective initiatives for the creation of small enterprises, providing support in management, project development, and financing, in collaboration with the relevant ministries.
It establishes appropriate strategies to facilitate youth participation in the country’s development and to promote the values of peace, democracy, and solidarity.

Maidé Hamit Lony
Minister of Youth and Sports
Born in Abéché, Chad, Maïdé Hamit Lony is an experienced jurist specialized in public administration and economic community action. He holds a Master’s degree in Public Law and Notarial Law from Lumière Lyon 2 University in France.
His academic and professional background led him to specialize in areas such as Public Law, the Economic Sector, and Cross-Border Cooperation. After a career marked by various responsibilities within the public administration and recognized expertise in community management, Mr. Maïdé Hamit Lony earned the trust of the highest authorities. Before his appointment as Minister of Youth and Sports on February 6, 2025, he first served as Secretary of State for National Education in March 2024, and later as Secretary-General of the Ministry of Social Action and Humanitarian Affairs. He published a book titled “Decentralization in Chad: A Normative Dynamic Tested by Practical Realities.” Faithful and loyal to his convictions, he has demonstrated his commitment to the stability of Chad.
