Creating a User For Member Dashboard

Follow these steps to create and link a member user to a country or organization.

Steps to Create a New Member User

  1. Go to Users
    • In the admin menu, click on “Users”.
  2. Click “Add New”
    • At the top, click “Add New User”.
  3. Fill User Details
    • Username & Email: Enter the user’s email address in both fields.
    • First & Last Name: Fill in the user’s name.
  4. Generate Password
    • WordPress will auto-generate a secure password.
    • Copy this password – the user will receive it via email once the account is created.
  5. Send User Notification
    • Uncheck this option to prevent automatic email notifications (you can notify the user manually later).
  6. Assign Role
    • Set the Role to Subscriber.
  7. Link User to Member
    • In the “User Related to Member” field, choose the appropriate country/organization that the user will manage.
  8. Add New User
    • Click “Add New User” to complete the process.

Note:

  • If the country or organization isn’t in the system yet, save your changes, add the member in the CMS, and return to assign the user to their country/organization.

Associating Users with Existing Content

If the country/organization already has Best Practices or Testimonials, you must assign the user to those posts. This ensures the content appears in their dashboard.

Steps to Assign Best Practices (BPs) to Users

  1. Go to Best Practices
    • In the admin menu, click “Best Practices”.
  2. Select the Post
    • Click on the Best Practice post you want to assign.
  3. Go to Relations Tab
    • Click the “Best Practices Relations” tab.
  4. Assign User
    • In the “BP Relations to Member (User)” dropdown, select the member user to associate with the post.

Steps to Assign Testimonials to Users

  1. Go to Testimonials
    • In the admin menu, click “Testimonials”.
  2. Select the Testimonial
    • Click on the Testimonial post you want to assign.
  3. Go to Relations Tab
    • Click the “Testimonial Relations” tab.
  4. Assign User
    • In the “Member (User)” dropdown, choose the member user to associate with the testimonial.

Final Notes:

  • Regularly check and update user roles to ensure access levels are correct.
  • If the member user cannot see their assigned posts after logging in, revisit the Best Practices and Testimonials sections to ensure proper association.
